Uppercase Living - My results

It looked so easy when the consultant did it. It was easy when I did the coaster at the show. Now that I'm actually applying the decals to glass, it's not easy at all!! (pictures to follow in a little while)

I decided to do all of my Uppercase Living projects today. I have a yardstick, tape measure, card tool, decals, Windex, Mistick and paper towels.

It's almost 3:00, and I'm not done. I pulled out the first one - Be Yourself Everyone Else is Taken to put on my bedroom mirror. I scraped & scraped until my arms hurt. Cleaned the mirror, applied the Mistick - it wouldn't stick.
I SCRAPED THE DECAL ON TO THE WRONG SIDE!!
UGH! Of course I crumpled up the paper & threw it away as soon as I pulled it off. Now what??? Mike brought in masking tape & scraped the decal onto that. OK. Sprayed the Mistick on the mirror, placed the decal - and it wouldn't come off the masking tape!!! Waited over an hour, then started prying the decal off with my finger nail. Got about 1/2 of it on the mirror, then waited another hour. Got a bit more, then waited again. It's finally on the mirror, but I'm not sure that it's on there good enough.

Next project - my butterfly collage with the Butterfly Kisses decal. Got everything ready, scraped the decal onto the transfer paper (the right one). Somehow the end of it got wet. UGH! Let it dry, sprayed the Mistick onto the glass, placed the decal - it kept sliding around the glass!!! Let that one sit for about 2 hours, then pried & pried the decal off. Did I mention that this one is a 2-step??? This time I thought I would be smart & not use the Mistick. Yeah, great idea. As soon as the paper hit the glass - it stuck!! I wasn't ready, I was just trying to see exactly where I wanted it. At least it was close... no one will notice.

I think I'm good to do the next one. Flower collage with Wish, Hope, Dream - Then Make It Happen. The rest of them will have to wait. I've been working on these two since about 10:00 this morning.

The next time I order, I'll ask how much extra to have the consultant come over to do them.

Don't make me get out the flying monkeys !

Here are the pics.

The first is the Butterfly picture on my wall. Jill had given me a sample in etched glass -WISH. It really makes the picture -and was easy to apply since it was small.

The hardest part was getting the smaller letters & the dot over the i to stick.

The butterflies on the collage are in etched glass. They're not nearly as noticeable as they turned out in the picture.

Girl! I'll come help next time

I got the one on my bathroom mirror last year before they offered the 'Mistick' and had minimal problems. I've got three up in my hallway and one on a sign thingy that were easy-peasy
It sounds like the Mistick is evil!

Can't wait to see all the pretty pictures!

Something else I didn't know until Mike pointed it out.
Each decal has triangles on them. On the top, bottom & each side.
They're not part of the design! I had to scrape them off the mirror...
